Our story

Starting a company 1991

Ing. Juraj Gočal, Ing. Mária Humajová and Ing. Marián Cibulák founded the company FONTANA, Ltd., based in Dolný Kubín.

Main area of focus of the newly founded company was construction and sale of spare parts for agricultural machines. At that time, FONTANA, Ltd., as the first company in Slovakia, got a certificate for thermal insulation of buildings.

After one of the founding members, Ing. Marián Cibulák, left the company, in 1993, FONTANA, Ltd. profiled as a company focusing primarily on the sale of agricultural machinery and spare parts.

Beginning of cooperation in the sale of feed and mixing wagons with Gilioli Srl.

FONTANA, Ltd. begins to manufacture its own products – knives for feed wagons.

Joint-stock company (PLC) 2000

There is a change in the type of company – from Ltd to PLC –  with a new foreign shareholder arriving. At the same time, FONTANA, PLC widens the range of the knives production.

Certificate ISO 9001 2004

FONTANA, PLC decided to invest significantly in the purchase of CNC machines. The company also received ISO 9001 quality certificate.

Production widening 2005 – 2010

FONTANA, PLC, gradually widens production and invests in the purchase of new CNC machines, lasers and technologies for products heat treatment.

Cooperation with the Slovak Industrial Institute 2015

The company started cooperating with the Welding Reaserch Institute – Industrial Institute of the Slovak Republic, resulting in development of new technological procedures for powder metal surface layer.

Beginning of using of the new robotized working site for tungsten layer powdering, in knives manufacturing.
